During the 19th century, Bingo had made its journey all the way to Germany. That’s when it started being used in schools to help children learn many important talents – including mathematics, counting, and spelling. In today’s world, that trend still continues. You can find Bingo in almost any classroom and its spell binding properties are still being used to influence children to learn. In fact, Bingo was the basis for a popular children’s song. Can you guess the name? It’s Bingo!
Lottery
In 1530, when bingo was born, the Italians used it as a lottery. And that trend hasn’t changed at all. Ever wonder where the Lottery was born? Where it came from? Well it’s simple, the lottery came from bingo. Just look at the lottery more closely and you can see the similarities. For starters, during the lottery drawing, numbered balls are pulled from a machine. Although the numbers aren’t accompanied by letters, the concept is still the same.
But the drawing itself doesn’t even begin to describe the impact that bingo has on the lottery. Just about every store you go in sells Bingo scratch-off tickets. This is by far the most popular scratch-off ticket that’s made. And rightfully so, for Bingo is an extremely popular game.

Bingo isn’t played in casinos – well not “Bingo” anyways – but it was one of the catalysts for their growth. Bingo journeyed to France and during that time, Europe wasn’t big on gambling.
